Carnival is one of the most famous celebrations in the world. The main events are usually during February. In order to commemorate the fast and temptation of Jesus, there is 40-day observance before Easter called Lent. Before Lent, people often dress up or masquerade during the celebrations which represent an overturning of social norms.
The day after the start of the carnival is the children's exclusive day. So Magnolia Kindergarten celebrates the carnival on Tuesday, February the 28th.
The teachers and the parents have prepared everything we need to have a great time. These talented teachers use all their skills to make costumes for the children. Some of them use paints and some of them make origami. Class LUGH goes to the Bund. Class SCARABS, Class SPHINXES, Class AZTEQUES, Class TIMGAD and Class TRAJAN go to People’s Park. Class INDIENS, Class INCAS, Class BRIGID and Class ARTEMIS have carnival parade the kindergarten!
Children are so excited! They shout, “Let’s go now, shall we?"
Let's have a look at carnivals from around the world and then feel the atmosphere and energy coming from Magnolia Kindergarten.
As soon as Class LUGH gets off the school bus, they say it is the special smell of Huangpu River.
Hey, here are some sticks and stones! Let's go and pick some, maybe we can build something.
That day is the Jan-Feb students’birthday. Children sit in a circle, singing the birthday song, having the cake. Accompanying with the winter’s sunshine, children’s smile is melting cold wind.
“Look, what’s that?”
Class SCARABS, Class SPHINXES, Class AZTEQUES, Class TIMGAD and Class TRAJAN have the carnival parade on the path of the People’s park. The carnival atmosphere impacts the people in the park. Children are singing songs hand by hand.
The carnival is not only out of the kindergarten. In Magnolia, we also have many “superstar” and “heroes”. Class BRIGID, Class INDIENS, Class INCAS, and Class ARTEMIS spread the jollification over the school.
You can feel Carnival everywhere in our Magnolia Kindergarten.
